Anna and Sami's Farm to Table Floral Disco Wedding at Longest Acres Farm in Chelsea, Vermont
My trusty sidekick and dear friend Em, of Pogo Photo, worked alongside me (and enjoyed at least one maple creemee), many of her photos are featured here!
Anna and Sami’s wedding was close to home, and not just in the literal sense of the word (Longest Acres Farm is less than 15 minutes from my house, always a major treat when you’re driving home from a wedding). The barn and addition at Longest Acres was designed and built by my husband, Jeff, the owner of Longest Acres, Kate, is a dear friend of ours, and even the bar service, provided by Babe’s Bar, is a close connection, as we hosted our baby shower there!
Anna and I also have connections that go deeper than just wedding planning- we met back in 2017, when Anna was a field hand at Stitchdown Farm (Rita, who owns Stitchdown and is also a friend, provided the gorgeous arrangements for the wedding!) and I was working once a week in exchange for cut flower knowledge, starts, and plenty of flowers. Anna was a student at Sterling College, and enjoyed telling me all about what she was learning there, especially her work with draft horses. Anna’s always been 100% sweetness, so when I met Sami this summer (who Anna had met and fallen in love with back when she was a student at Sterling), I was surprised that there was someone else in the world was just as sweet as Anna, quick to laughter, and a big fan of my stupid jokes.
Anna and Sami are farmers, and incorporated delicious, locally sourced (including a pig they raised!) food, flowers, drinks, and favors (from Fat Toad Farm!) into every aspect of their wedding. Not only just a gorgeous backdrop, but a farm providing local meats as well, Longest Acres was the perfect laid-back setting for a weekend celebrating these two sweet souls and all who love them!
