What are your policies surrounding the current Covid-19 pandemic?

We are strictly following the guidelines for the state of Vermont and each state we will be photographing in. For indoor weddings, we are wearing masks, and continuing to sanitize, test, and take safety precautions. We are fully vaccinated and require any second shooter we hire to be fully vaccinated as well. With our rescheduling/downsizing policies, we have worked with couples to draft a fair set of steps to ensure that couples are able to make the choices they want without losing money/having to pay extra money if bookings are rescheduled within one year of their original date. We have put together a full page helping all our couples who are setting up their plan B, which you can view HERE.

Do you offer formal portraits? How long should we set aside for these?

While photographing the real moments is our ultimate focus, we also believe that you and your family should have beautiful formal photos as well. We'll work with you to determine the best time to schedule these, and give you advice to make them go quickly and be fun for everyone. Generally we try to limit formal groupings to eight different groups. We encourage couples to schedule twenty to thirty minutes for group portraits.

Are you LBGT allies?

Absolutely!

What is your commitment to BIPOC (Black and Indigenous People of Color)?

We believe that Black Lives Matter, and are actively working to make our offerings more accessible to BIPOC. Please see our Services page, for our action plan. Additionally, we refuse to work at any venue that has operated in any capacity as a plantation

Where do you live? Will you travel to me?

We live in a timber-framed house we designed and built ourselves surrounded by apple trees in Tunbridge, Vermont (right smack dab in the middle of the state). We love when our clients come to visit us for a campfire! If your celebration is in VT/NH/MA/CT/RI/ME/NY, we’re happy to travel! If you’re further afield, we’re happy to suggest photographers in your area with a similar style. If we’re unavailable, we have a large network of documentary wedding photographer friends with whom we share calendars and we’ll provide you with referrals to folks who are available

Do you offer albums?

Albums are the best way for us to showcase our work, and a wonderful addition for your home and gift for your families. We offer a variety of albums from U.S. and Canadian companies with options to suit a variety of aesthetic styles and budgets. Let us know if you're interested (before or after your wedding, there's no wrong time to inquire!), and we'll send along our elegant album booklet with all the options.

My reception is in a dark, indoor location (barn, restaurant, etc.). How will you handle the light?

We believe in taking advantage of natural light when its at it's best, and artfully utilizing off-camera flash in darker situations. We use a few unobtrusive flashes that produce the cinematic feel seen in many of the reception photos in our portfolio. If we need to use flash during a ceremony in a darker, indoor location, we will communicate with you and your officiant ahead of time so you know what to expect.

When should I book a photographer for my wedding? What is required to book you?

As couples continue to plan their weddings further and further in advance, we recommend reaching out to your top priority vendors as soon as possible, especially if your wedding is in June, August, or September. That being said, availability can be a gamble, so feel free to reach out even if your wedding is in a few months. Our average booking time is about a year before the wedding date, though we’ve booked weddings over two years in advance and as close as two weeks before an event. It never hurts to ask. We require a signed contract and 1/3 of the total cost as a retainer to reserve your date.

Do you photograph elopements and smaller weddings?

Yes! Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve photographed more small weddings and elopements than ever, and have created a budget-friendly (starting at 1400.00 for two hours of coverage and one photographer), flexible package for everyone who wants to get married in a more low-key setting. Since many elopements happen during the week, we generally have more availability/flexibility and often can even hold the day before/after as a rain date if good weather is a priority.

Are you insured? Do you have backup gear in case something fails?

Yes and Yes! We're happy to provide proof of insurance, and we carry extras of all our gear (for the photo nerds, we use Canon cameras, Canon prime lenses, and flashpoint flashes)

What happens if my wedding is cancelled or postponed?

Good question! If your wedding is postponed, we’re happy to move your deposit to a new date. If we’re booked that date, we can either one or two (depending on your original package) trusted photographers handle your day and we’ll handle all the editing, questions, and payment. If you’d rather choose new photographers, we’ll issue a gift certificate for the amount of the deposit that you can redeem for family photos, an anniversary session, or something else photo-related. Our retainer (1/3 of the total package) is non-refundable.

How do you edit my photos? When Can I see My photos

Once we select the best photos from your celebration, we carefully color-correct, sharpen, and adjust the exposure on each photo we deliver to you. We don't use trendy filters because we want your photos to hold up for many years to come. We provide a color and a black and white copy of each high-resolution photo, which you can download, print, or share as much as you want.  We'll post a preview of your wedding on our blog within a week of your wedding, and we'll deliver your high-resolution, edited images within a month of your wedding date.
