Sarah and Stephen's Lakeside Wedding with Bonus Fireworks in Fairlee, Vermont
It was such a delight working with Liz Friar again as we’ve become fast friends after first working together last year- I love her thoughtful way of composing her images, and how she loves to laugh!
Life has thrown Sarah and Stephen some major challenges in the past few months, and I’m sure there were many moments of “why are we planning a wedding right now?” as they tackled each hurdle that rose before them. But as the sun set over Lake Morey on Saturday night and they found themselves jumping up and down on the dance floor, surrounded by their parents and dearest friends, singing at the top of their lungs to songs that carried them through other times, Sarah and Stephen were enveloped by the joy they so needed and deserved, and what a treat it was to witness it.
Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee have been home to some of Sarah’s Family’s favorite memories since 1918- when the first of their family members went to camp. Sarah and Stephen make the trek up to Vermont many weekends each year to the lakehouse where her grandmother lived for many years, and it was the perfect setting for a wedding that centered around honoring the people closest to them.
One of the perks of planning a wedding around fourth of July weekend (besides the bonus day!) was Sarah and Stephen and their guests were able to enjoy a first-class fireworks show over the lake for absolutely free, as the summer camps across the lake shot off fireworks that were seen by everyone on the lake. Everyone stopped their dancing for just a few minutes to watch the fire blossom over the lake, then ran right back in to party the rest of the night!
