Hannah and David's Victorian-Inspired Intimate Wedding at Lake Willoughby in Westmore, Vermont

The first time I met Hannah and David (at a bar in Winooski to talk about their wedding), I knew we’d stay friends past their wedding. Both are creative souls and deep thinkers and I feel like we are kindred spirits. On our hike up and down Mount Hor yesterday morning before their ceremony (the Western side of the Willoughby Notch) the woods were filled with the spirited conversations of old friends, though we’ve just known each other for a little over six months.

I often talk about photography being a collaboration, with some more than others, and Hannah and David took their collaboration roles seriously. In our meetings together we traded inspiration and talked about the best way to visually honor their bonds. After hearing about the love and respect they have for their families, it almost felt as I already knew Hannah’s parents, David’s mom, and his sister when they and other family and friends gathered in the woods at the edge of Lake Willoughby for the ceremony.

To honor the beginning of their friendship that was spent in the darkroom, I also photographed several rolls of film for their wedding- I’m excited to share them when they are ready!
