Meagan and Evan's Crisp, Early Fall Intimate Wedding at the Ethan Allen Homestead and Waterworks Restaurant Reception in Burlington, Vermont
Meagan and Evan have been coming to Burlington every September for the past few years to enjoy the Grand Point North Festival, as big fans of Grace Potter, and the myriad of guests she brings along. This year, they planned to pre-game the festival by getting married, and bringing their closest friends and family along to celebrate. As we’re well used to by now, their festival plans changed (the festival was cancelled, but Grace Potter still played on Saturday on the most beautiful day, which Meagan and Evan and their crew attended!), but this didn’t stop Meagan and Evan from throwing the sweetest weekend for themselves and their favorite people.
I had a moment of quiet gratitude while exploring the Ethan Allen Homestead with these two, who I had just met in person for the first time, but already felt like we had known each other for a while. This year, I realized, has brought some of my favorite clients my way, at some of my favorite venues. Most days, I don’t feel like I’m at work at all, just getting to capture beautiful images and get to know super chill people. It’s an absolute honor.
I’ve been to the Ethan Allen Homestead once before to photograph an elopement (how Meagan and Evan found me, and how they learned about the venue), but had never been to Waterworks before, and loved the quiet elegance of the place and the patio, where Meagan had surprised Evan with customized giant Jenga and cornhole, and where they shared cocktails with their friends and their first dance before sitting down to an elegant dinner together.
