Salomé and Ben's Foodie Forest Wedding at the Inn at Weathersfield in Perkinsville, Vermont
One of the first things I noticed on Salomé and Ben’s wedding day were their books. I was up in their room photographing them getting ready together while Jeff photographed details around the Inn at Weathersfield when I saw they each had a book on their nightstand. In the grand chaos of a wedding weekend, they still committed to their routine of reading before bed, a small detail that speaks great lengths about their commitment to lifelong learning together.
Salomé and Ben chose a favorite venue of ours- The Inn at Weathersfield- to celebrate their love of each other, family, friends, and good, local food tucked into the forest and rustic kitchen gardens. It was the hottest weekend of the year, but the photos won’t give that away as joy (and the perfect ceremony spot in the forest) overpowered the humidity. Guests and staff alike would dart over to air conditioning or a giant fan, then carry on with the festivities.
One of the last things we noticed about Salomé and Ben’s wedding day were their groups of friends. In their pursuit of higher education, both Salomé and Ben have moved around to different states, schools, and fellowships. Near the end of their wedding celebration, they asked us to photograph the sweet and lively groups of friends they found at each place, a testament to their commitment to strong friendships (and fun!) and their own instantly likeable personalities in the midst of dedicated studying. At the end of the night, we loved watching all these groups merge for the hora, as Salomé and Ben and their parents were lifted high into the air on chairs as everyone danced and screamed around them!
