Katie and Ryan's Intimate Covered Bridge Wedding in Newry, Maine
I met Katie and Ryan for the first time on the day of their small wedding at the Sunday River Artists’ Covered Bridge in Newry, Maine, and immediately saw how they both radiated total sweetness and love for each other. It was incredibly easy photographing them together because they are champion cuddlers and proud of it!
Katie and Ryan combined their visions to create the most beautiful, quiet spring wedding: Katie wanted a low-stress wedding with only the closest family and friends and Ryan wanted to get married by the Sunday River- where he’s long loved spending time. Ryan’s mom officiated their ceremony, which included vows which spoke of the wonderful life the two had given each other already and the promises to come. After the ceremony, the 20 or so guests headed back to the lodge house that Katie and Ryan had rented for a family barbecue.
My favorite thing about intimate weddings is that it gives me more time to get to know a couple and their dynamic and capture that throughout the afternoon with fewer distractions, and Katie and Ryan’s wedding was exactly that. I drove home filled with so much of that joy that these sweet people had given me during their wedding day.
