Mark and Matt's History-Inspired, Elegant Intimate Wedding in Newburyport, Massachusetts
Last year, Mark and Matt reached out to me about photographing their June wedding at their historic home in Southern NH. We clicked right away, bonding over flower gardening and our love of England, and I visited their place last fall, imagining a sunny early-summer wedding in their gorgeous backyard. As we’ve all learned in the past few years, plans have a funny habit of changing, and when Matt learned his company was deploying much earlier than they had planned, we all sprung into action to turn their original plan into wedding part 1, and wedding part 2. The silver lining we all immediately recognized is the fact that we’ll get to go through this wedding journey together twice, and what cooler, sweeter people to get to have some deja vu with!
In six weeks, Mark and Matt seamlessly planned the most elegant, cozy wedding in Newburyport, MA. The weather was on their side, with the warmth of the late winter sun shining upon the foot of snow that had fallen the day before. It was such a dream to photograph in the beautiful, historic spaces of the Garrison Inn and the Old South Presbyterian Church, but even more of a delight to spend the day with Matt and Mark’s closest friends and family. I often understand more about my couples after meeting the people who support, encourage, and teach them, and after being treated like an honored guest from each person present, Mark and Matt’s sweetness make even more sense to me now.
So here’s to you, Mark and Matt, on your beautifully planned wedding, part 1. Can’t wait to see how you style summer for wedding, part 2, next June!
