Patricia and Thomas' Hobbit-Inspired, Community-Centered Wedding at Landgoes Farm in Tunbridge, Vermont
If we had the distinct pleasure of getting to photograph Samwise Gamgee's wedding to Rosie Cotton, I think it would've looked quite a bit like Patricia and Thomas' wedding this weekend at Landgoes Farm. Juicy apples ripening on the branches of century-old apple trees, sheep happily grazing, bright flowers adorning the wedding barn, and local food made with care by dear friends, all bathed in golden September light.
Landgoes Farm has long been on our "dream list" of venues to photograph. Not only is it the most beautiful venue, with sweeping mountain views and thoughtfully-cut trails traversing the property, but it's also owned by John and Emily, fixtures of our town of Tunbridge, and people we're proud to call our friends. Another thing we love at Landgoes is that for all the venues we travel to around the East Coast and throughout Vermont, this one is less than five minutes from our house. I've ridden horses here many times, and even gone foxhunting with the North Country Hounds, thanks to John and Emily graciously opening their property to the community.
Patricia and Thomas spent over two years crafting their wedding day: a celebration to honor their families and close-knit community. We loved witnessing the meaningful ceremony they planned, with flags to represent themselves carried in a procession before they said their vows. Thomas hand made their wedding rings, and friends happily jumped in to help with details from food prep, to wrangling family members for photos.
