Jessica and Brendan's Timeless, Intimate Poolside Wedding in Boylston, Massachusetts
Sometimes I dream of attending a poolside party back in the 1960’s or so, with fancy drinks and beautiful Danish modern furniture. Jess and Brendan’s wedding at Jess’ aunt’s mid-century home tucked in the woods made this daydream come true, and all in the midst of a pandemic to boot! I loved capturing the lush greenery, retro decor, and poolside cocktail hour on Sunday. I also loved how seriously Jess, Brendan, and their families took safety throughout the day and found creative ways to do so, with matching homemade masks, spaced sweetheart tables for each quarantine pod in attendance, and sanitized pens as the Ketubah was signed.
My favorite moment was after the ceremony, when Jess and Brendan said hello to the dozens of people all tuned into their wedding via Zoom. Jess became so overwhelmed and cried happy tears when she realized how many people had shown up online to support their marriage. “There were pages and pages of happy, shining faces,” she said.
