Hannah and Sabrina's Chilled-Out Brunch Wedding at the Alvah Stone Restaurant in Montague, Massachusetts
It’s a rare treat for me to get to photograph a couple in the very place they fell in love, but I found myself getting to do exactly this on Saturday morning at Capen Garden in Northampton, Massachusetts. Sabrina and Hannah were both interns at the garden and students at neighboring schools when they met, and what a magical place to meet your future wife! As we wandered the gardens I thought about their first conversations and interactions among the trellised roses and overflowing beds of blooms.
Spending time with Sabrina and Hannah is like hanging out with long-time friends who care about you dearly. Their sweetness and deep respect made our time taking photographs at Capen Garden together so fun and lighthearted as they pointed out favorite spots around the garden and stopped to blot sweat off each others faces in the early July humidity. Afterwards, we drove up to the little town of Montague where an old mill houses a bookstore and a restaurant- both favorite places of Sabrina and Hannah, and where their wedding was held.
When they first talked with me back in January, Sabrina and Hannah described their dream for the day to be a super-low-key opportunity to celebrate their love alongside friends and family with food being a major component. The cozy atmosphere and incredible food of the Alvah Stone provided the perfect hub for this vision, with everyone taking the time to catch up over brunch, ice cream, and pie.
