Caroline and Dave's Mini Engagement Session
Caroline and I go way back; I've known her since she was born. We also grew up in the same house and share the same parents. When she and her (brand spankin' new) fiancee Dave came up with my parents this weekend, I was honored to spend a little time with the both of them to photograph their engagement photos. My parents always stay a mile down the road from our house, in a cabin on a pond- the perfect setting for our session.
Caroline and Dave's story has always been my favorite. Eight years ago, when I was home for Christmas, she confessed she liked this guitar-playing boy named Dave. Our family would sit in the front row at church every Sunday so she could have a prime view as he was leading worship. My mom arranged weekly guitar lessons for Caroline with Dave so they could actually get to know each other. For five years she built a friendship, but kept this crush secret, until she ("accidentally") ended up at the same college. Over dinners, drives, and picnics they learned that their affection had been mutual for the same amount of time. When she conference called my sister Lauren and me to tell us they had started to date, we both were ecstatic, and even more so now we've gotten to know Dave. I'm super excited for their wedding next May!
PS: There's a cameo at the end by our dog, Arlo, who is rarely invited, but always happy to assist.
