Danielle and Andrew's Vibrant, World Traveler Wedding at Ogontz Rustic Resort in Lyman, New Hampshire
*** My good friend and talented photographer Ellen Ross of The Light and Color accompanied me for Danielle and Andrew’s wedding, and several of these photos are hers!"***
Danielle and Andrew’s wedding was a photographer’s dream. First, the setting: Ogontz Rustic Resort is one of the coolest venues I’ve ever been to, with it’s unique lodging, massive lodge, and all kinds of surprise details scattered throughout. Next, the events: Danielle and Andrew spent countless hours crafting a meaningful, memorable ceremony that honored the connections to all the people in their lives. Some of my favorite moments included a first look by canoe, a parade accompanied by the coolest brass street band, and a moment during the ceremony where each guest added a flower to a giant basket to symbolize their community. Finally, Danielle and Andrew themselves: the fun and inspiring couple was literally glowing all day, and seldom could be seen without giant grins on their faces all day.
Danielle and Andrew’s original wedding plan was to get married in Guatemala, where they met and lived for several years and where many of their dear friends live. Since that plan was waylaid by the pandemic, they pivoted with a wedding that honors the places they’ve lived, their own heritages, and the cultures of their friends. Exquisite Guatemalan textiles lovingly made by the collective they work with was used at both their ceremony and reception. It was such a delight to get to know Danielle and Andrew as friends over the past year, and to celebrate with them on Monday!
