Marion and Michael's Island Ceremony and Lakeside Reception at the Lake Bomoseen Lodge in Bomoseen, Vermont
You know it’s been a good day and a wonderful collaboration when you end the night making plans with the couple to hang out after the wedding. That’s exactly what happened with Marion and Mike on Saturday night. They are the sweetest, most genuine people who we’ve fond a kindred connection with in the past year of working with them, having dinner with them at their old farmhouse, and walking around the Lake Bomoseen Lodge property a few months ago to get to know them and the venue more.
Besides the chill vibe that radiated throughout the day, we were blessed with some of the best photo weather we’ve had all summer- cool temperatures and a scattering of gentle rain showers that came with the most dramatic clouds as Marion and Mike took boats to a private island to do their first look and hold their ceremony. The island, which has hosted the likes of Walt Disney and the Marx brothers, is a magical forest oasis in the midst of Lake Bomoseen. Marion and Mkel were serenaded with the brightest bluegrass music played by dear friends as they each walked down the aisle. We loved getting to jump on the first boat back to the mainland with Marion and Michael and witness their joy right after their wedding as they were able to hold each other and soak in the feeling of “we did it!”
One of our favorite parts of Saturday’s festivities were -surprisingly- the speeches! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard listening to Mike’s childhood friend regale the crowd with tales of their grade-school mishaps and a gaggle of Marion’s college dorm buddies tell their own tales. These stories gave us yet another glance of how simultaneously sweet AND fun Marion and Mike are.
