Hello! I’m Sarah

I believe every wedding I photograph is a collaboration between me and you- and getting to know each other is an important part of this process. I always prioritize spending time with each couple, not just talking about your wedding, but learning who you are, what makes you excited, what you love about each other, and what makes you laugh. I do this most of the time by grabbing coffee, or dinner, or drinks with you so on your wedding day I feel more like a friend with a camera (and yes! I travel several times to Boston and DC to meet with clients).

My whole life, I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by wedding photographers. My mom founded her wedding photography studio at age 25, and my parents ran the business together for another 25 years. I began slowly picking up the business of wedding photography as soon as I could walk, and more intensely beginning in high school, learning how to make people feel comfortable on a stressful day, organizing hundreds of prints, and making sure all the right moments were captured.

I went to college (Rochester Institute of Technology) for photojournalism, where I met my husband and fellow photographer (and occasional Two Of Us Photography second photographer) Jeff. We moved to Vermont in 2011, and I spent the next five years as a photojournalist for my dream paper, The Valley News, before transitioning to run Two Of Us Photography full time in late 2016.

Two Of Us Photography is the product of a traditional wedding photography education combined with years of documentary and photojournalism experience, with a big helping of my own artistic style and love of capturing the most exciting moments in peoples’ lives.

When I’m not photographing weddings or creating editorial photography content for local and national publications, I love tending to my cut flower garden, riding my Icelandic horse, and sewing adorable outfits for my toddler, Lila.
