 Blogging can be frustrating, right?

It’s the thing on your to-do list that continually gets pushed to the next week, and can feel as uninspiring as doing laundry.

Why do we need to blog anyways?

I’ve continually heard these sentiments from friends in the industry, and sometimes I feel like a total weirdo because I’ve actually always loved blogging my weddings. To me, sitting down a day or two after I photograph a wedding and compiling my favorites into a simple but clever narrative is my favorite part of being a wedding photographer. I like to put my work out for others to see when it’s as fresh as possible, using my blog as a gathering place for guests and friends of the couple to reminisce about their epic weekend, when that excitement is still there. Later, it’s a place for potential clients to find examples of weddings I’ve photographed at their venue, or to find couples that look like them. All in all, I find my blog to be the most realistic view of who I am as a photographer.

In the past seven years of running my business, I’ve had life and schedule changes that have limited the time I can put into my blogging, but through creating formulas and a solid, simple workflow, I have taken time consuming second-guessing out of the equation and replaced it with productivity, so I can have a beautiful, quality post within two hours. In this time, I’ve created a preview for the couple, an example of my work for future couples, and an entry point for more people to find me.

I also love teaching and sharing my knowledge with other photographers, so I’m excited to bring together two of my passions into this course. In this 90-minute live class, using live-edits, presentations, and a Q and A session, I’ll detail how to choose the right images for a unique narrative every time, ways to simplify your blogging practice, and how to take the work you’ve put into blogging and make it go further for you. At the end of this course, you’ll be doing better work, in less time.

I’ll also provide you with:

-A PDF of the step by step guide to my blogging workflow

-A list of blogging and SEO resources to take your new skills even further, including my most popular SEO tags and tips

-My personal contact info so you can reach out in the future for advice

Hi! I’m Sarah. I’m a second generation wedding photographer who has run my own business in Vermont for the past seven years.

Before pursuing weddings full-time, I was a photojournalist at award winning newspapers for six years, where I learned how to quickly make editing decisions on short deadlines. Weeks worth of work would often be narrowed down to five photos on a page, and with the help of my editors, I learned how to choose the right images to make that page shine.

When I began blogging my weddings, I translated these skills into making each post a mini portfolio, and a narrative that encapsulated the feeling of the wedding without making viewers bored by too many photos. Each blog is posted within four days of every wedding I shoot (and yes, I blog every single wedding!), and I’m able to do this all while raising my two-year-old.

My workflow and experience with blogging and narrative editing has given me so much over the past several years including dream clients and more time to do other fun things, and I want to share it with you!

Ready to take charge of your blog? Let’s do this thing!

(If you can’t make it on April 8th, the class will be recorded and available to stream!)
